• Petar Hektorović's Tvrdalj Castle from the 16th century is the most well-known building and one of the symbols of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar.
• It is located in a deep bay on the western edge of Stari Grad.
• During his life, this famous Croatian poet devoted himself almost obsessively to the construction of the castle and left his descendants a closed and self-contained microcosm dedicated to the Creator of everything – Omnium Conditori.
• The biggest attraction of the castle is its pond with brackish water inhabited by grey mullets.
